The best response came from Aaseesh from Google who responded to the post saying that the site has an inorganic link problem and a manual action has been issued.

Aaseesh responded like this: “Hi Chris, Looks like there's a manual action on your site due to some inorganic links , take a look at this article for more information: Please fix this and submit a reconsideration request so remove the manual action .”

In his response, Asseesh linked the Search Console guide directly to the Link Schemes  page  where Google immediately reminds us in the first paragraph that “any link intended to manipulate a site’s PageRank or ranking in Google big work search results may be considered part of a link scheme and is a violation of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines .”

This is why it is not so rare that a site that has suffered a manual action (read penalization, ed.) by Google, can be penalized in several different ways.

It is clear that when Google detects that a site's backlink profile is dirty, it begins to lose trust in it, and blocking the display of rich snippets is part of the manual activities that Google does to "block" the visibility of the same.

SEOs and webmasters know how difficult it is to do clean and natural link building and they know  how easy it is for Google to penalize anyone who buys links to increase a site's PageRank or positioning.

That is why Google's guidelines always remind in several different sections that the only way to encourage the insertion of quality links in other sites  is and remains only high-quality content.

As they say: content is king because only high-quality content allows anyone to naturally acquire links from other sites and thus increase their popularity in the Internet community.

Links should be seen as “votes given by other users” who have freely chosen to link to content external to their own, to give readers the opportunity to delve deeper into a topic and/or share it with everyone they know.
